As an aspiring writer, keeping my ideas organized has always been a challenge. I heard on a podcast that Scrivener was a useful tool for keeping everything straight, but I found the software extremely confusing and wasn't able to just pick it up.

About the Author

Professor Byron Sharp is the Director of the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science at the University of South Australia. The Institute's fundamental research is used and financially supported by many of the world's leading corporations including Coca-Cola, Kraft, Kellogg's, British Airways, Procter & Gamble, Nielsen, TNS, Turner Broadcasting, Network Ten, Simplot, Mars and many others. Dr Sharp has published over 100 academic papers and is on the editorial board of five journals. He recently co-hosted a conference at the Wharton Business School on laws of advertising and, with Professor Jerry Wind, is editing a special issue of the Journal of Advertising Research on the topic.

This is a MUST READ for anyone working in branding, it breaks all the myths created by other institutions such as Harvard Business Review, etc. it gives you the real deal and facts of branding and what gets the customer to buy your product and buy it again.

The missing link

This book is the missing link between what your marketing instinct tells you is happening (or not) and the results you are seeing in the market place. Having spent a decade in brand management at Cadbury and Colgate I wish I had this book at the beginning of my career. The learnings will take you from armchair marketer (and isn't everyone one of those) where the highest salary in the room wins, to informed practitioner able to defend your recommendations. Buy this book, buy it for your team, and pray your competition can't read.

The book has some great exercises that helped me practice before the test

The book has some great exercises that helped me practice before the test. The longer you practice the better you get at it and they also had very clear steps that show you exactly what you need to do to arrive at the accurate answer that was you calculation of the dose you are giving is not too much or too little to damage the patient which is very important in the healthcare. I believe most schools need you to pass this course with at least 3.8GPA so there is very little if not any room for mistakes.

I suck in math!!! I got this book bc its required for my rn program. Before starting the nursing program, I was so scared bc I suck in math & told us we have a dosage calculation test every semester we have to pass w a 90% or higher. This book literally goes step by step with great explanation, it has formula boxes with tips to remember in each chapter. There are plenty of practice questions. I got 100% on all my hw & I passed my dosage calculation exam with a 100%, hands down the best!!! Its worth it!!!!

For someone that has always been intimidated by math in general, this book is the bomb! It is a requirement for my nursing school, and it explains things and causes them to "stick" with me like nothing I've ever seen. K-Gr 2-In this tale retold by a contemporary Inuit storyteller, an orphaned youngster is repeatedly abandoned on an ice floe by the seal hunters of his tribe who hope for his death. He is eventually rescued by a polar bear in human form who takes the boy to his own community and teaches him the skills necessary to survive in this harsh land. When he is able to hunt and fight, he is returned to his own kind, having been taught how to become a man. Lovely watercolor illustrations dominated by blue and white hues place readers into the chilly landscape and lend credence to this simple, but cruel tale. The lesson of self-reliance is implied in this stilted translation, but not made explicit enough for younger children. The boy shows no gratitude to his animal rescuers, seems to harbor no resentment against his human tribesmen, and has an unknown future. About the Author

Sakiasi Qaunaq has lived most of his life in the Arctic Bay area. His grandmother told him stories as a child and fostered in him a love for traditional legends. In his youth the stories were told for entertainment, but today he feels their retelling is crucial to sustaining Inuit traditions and culture. Eva Widermann is a freelance illustrator and concept artist whose work has been published in a wide variety of books, magazines, and games. Her work has become renowned for its realistic and evocative edge.

About the Author
Michael Agar received his undergraduate degree from Stanford and his Ph.D. in linguistic anthropology from the Language-Behavior Research Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley. An honorary Woodrow Wilson Fellow, NIH Career Award recipient, and currently Fulbright Senior Specialist, he is professor emeritus at the University of Maryland, College Park, with adjunct appointments in Speech Communication and Comparative Literature, as well as an associate at Antropokaos at the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina. He was recently appointed Distinguished Scholar at the International Institute of Qualitative Methods at the University of Alberta.He works independently as Ethknoworks LLC in northern New Mexico. Ethknoworks centers on research, writing and consultation around issues in ethnography, language, complexity theory, and the organization from both theoretical and practical points of view. Kurt Lewin provides the motto: There is nothing as practical as a good theory.He also works with the Redfish Group in Santa Fe (www.redfish.com), particularly around the application of a blend of ethnography and computer visualization called "OrgViz," short for "making the organization visible.His past appointments include research positions with public health agencies in Kentucky and New York as well as university positions at the Universities of Hawaii, Houston, and California in the U.S., and visits with the Universities of Mysore in India, Surrey in the U.K., and Vienna and the Johannes Kepler University in Austria.Publications include articles in journals from the fields of anthropology, linguistics, folklore and oral history, sociology, organization research, psychology, psychiatry, public policy, artificial intelligence, complexity, intercultural communication, and the substance use and transportation fields. He also writes for general magazines like Smithsonian. His books include Ripping and Running, The Professional Stranger, Angel Dust, Speaking of Ethnography, Independents Declared, and Language Shock: Understanding the Culture of Conversation. A new book, a policy critique based on his decades in the drug field that was recently published, is Dope Double Agent: The Naked Emperor on Drugs.In 2006 he finished work as principal investigator on a seven year NIH project to explain illicit drug epidemics. He also conducts introductory and advanced workshops on qualitative research and complexity theory and consults on the use of those methods in diverse project applications. Lately the use of complexity theory to reformulate social service organizations occupires his time and interest. Projects now underway include translation as a model for ethnography, cultural ecology, and the "serious games" field. He is a member of several editorial boards and has served on numerous research advisory committees. In 2004 he was presented with the Leadership Award in Qualitative Inquiry by the International Institute for Qualitative Methodology.
